Meet Jess Amedée - Regional Advisor

Jess Amedée is a coach, player mentor, and first-generation collegiate student athlete. He was drafted in 2014 by the Pittsburgh Pirates following his junior year at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). Jess brings five years of experience working as a professional pitcher and deep knowledge of various recruiting pipelines due to attending three academically and athletically diverse colleges (University of Northern Colorado, Central Arizona College, and UTA).

After spending more than 25 years developing his athleticism, character, and relationships on and off the baseball field, Jess’s passion is to support players in navigating their educational and athletic careers in meaningful, holistic, and culturally relevant ways. Jess works alongside players and their families in a way that enriches existing skillsets, fortifies individual talents, and develops personal and professional aptitude and awareness. Jess believes that prioritizing the health and growth of the whole person leads to the greatest outcomes throughout and beyond the athlete’s journey. Jess’s advising approach is player-centered, value-driven, and industry-minded.

As an athlete and coach, Jess’s accomplishments and experiences are wide-ranging. Amedée pitched five seasons as a late-inning reliever throughout the Pittsburgh Pirates system, posting an 11-8 record spanning 171 innings, with a 4.14 earned run average, and 219 strikeouts. Jess has coached for the UTA Mavericks, Rocky Mountain High School, and WYCO scout teams. He draws from over a decade of international and national baseball experience, including the Western Canadian, Jayhawk, and Northwoods summer collegiate leagues. Amedée was named an All-Decade Team Player and All-Star for the Mankato MoonDogs under manager Mike Orchard.

Born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado, Jess is an alumnus of 6-time 5A State Champion, Rocky Mountain High School, and trained under the mentorship of nationally renowned Head Coach Scott Bullock. Alongside his teammates, Jess brought home two Colorado State Championships, was named a Rawlings High School All-American, First Team All-State, and Front Range League MVP.

In addition to serving as an advisor to players throughout the Colorado and Wyoming region, Jess is the head coach for the Altitude Prospects 2022 team and works with individual clients.
