Meet David Newcomer - Baseball Advisor

David Newcomer is a native of High Point, North Carolina who has spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach at Division II Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina. During his coaching stint he worked with hitters and infielders mainly while assisting with pitchers as well as the recruiting duties.

A 2017 graduate from Lenoir-Rhyne with a double major in marketing and sports management, he was also a four year starter as a player. While serving as an assistant he also graduated with his MBA.

David spent the summer of 2018 and 2019 as the manager of the Mooresville Spinners in the Southern Collegiate Baseball League. During his two year stint as manager, the Spinners compiled a 68-29. In his first year as manager, the team captured the league championship with a 37-14 overall record.

Throughout his playing and coaching career, David has been able to meet many people across all divisions which will be helpful to young players who look to obtain their lifelong dream of playing baseball at the collegiate level.
